I Will Never be Enough for Them

I will never be enough for them.

No matter how hard I try, it’s not going to happen. 

No matter how hard I am on myself, thinking I’m failing in my job as a mom. 

No matter how much I clean, cook, and try to entertain them all day long.

No matter how much I focus on ensuring they’re in the best schools, eating the best foods, and watching only educational and wholesome television shows.

No matter how much I worry about the influence of the world and the evil that lurks about. I can try to shield them all that I can, but in the end there is only so much I can do because someday they will be out on their own and not under my watch. 

As moms, we do all that we can to control how our kids will grow up and protect them from all that we can . . .

And we’ll never be enough for them. 

We’re not superwomen. As hard as we try, we never will be able to be everything and do everything for our kids that they need . . . 

But Jesus can.

Jesus can ensure their health and well-being.

Jesus can shield them from the influences of the world.

Jesus can protect them from the evil in this world.

Jesus can and IS everything they need.

I will never be enough for my kids, try as I might.

But Jesus will always be more than enough for them. 

He is everything they need . . . 

And that’s why a mama’s mission is to lead her kids to Jesus.
