In the Quietness of the Night, Jesus Meets with Mama

Spread the love

In the quietness of the night, Jesus meets with Mama.

As her arms are wrapped around her child, His arms are wrapped around her.

As she’s comforting a sick child, He’s comforting her.

As she’s pacing about and trying to console a fussy newborn, He’s matching her every step, not leaving her once.

As she’s speaking Truth over all the fears of a toddler who has woken up from a nightmare, He reminds her that He is the Truth. The Way. The Life.

As her mind is racing with the worries of tomorrow, He’s quieting all of her fears with His love.

As she’s rocking a child to sleep, He’s rocking her in His arms too.

In the quietness, He’s whispering her name . . .

Saying, “Daughter, come to Me and I will give you rest.”

“I have redeemed you.”

“I will strengthen you and help you.”

“Daughter, you are Mine.”

In the quietness of the night, it is just Him and her, and so she prays . . .

“Dear God, please let me get some sleep tonight.”

“Father, be my strength. Help me be more patient. More gentle. Help me to be a better mom.”

“Lord, be with my baby. Watch over this sweet babe and keep my children safe, happy, and healthy.”

And He’s there. All. Night. Long.

It’s when she feels His presence most.

In the quietness of the night, Jesus meets with Mama.
