Three O’clock is this Mama’s Jesus Time
Three o’clock.
That’s when the countdown begins for this stay-at-home mom.
That’s when I’m eyeing that clock and counting down the minutes to five o’clock where I can pass two kids off to my husband as he walks through the door.
It’s also around the time when this mama starts getting a little drained.
Every kid bickering match gets me on edge.
The kids start getting antsy for dinner and begging me for snacks.
They’ve already watched enough T.V. for the day so I can’t turn that thing back on.
They refuse to pick up their toys and give me a clean house before Dad gets off.
So, all of that to say, my patience is pretty thin by the time three o’clock comes.
If you’re a stay-at-home mom, you know what I’m talking about. The whole “the days are long but the years are short” thing, it’s accurate.
Three o’clock is the time when I need Jesus the most.
You can always tell when it’s three o’clock in my house because that’s when the worship music gets turned on.
That’s when this mama starts praying more . . .
For patience.
For energy.
For gentle responses when they refuse to pick up their toys.
For grace when they push me to my limits and I snap.
For it to be five o’clock.
Three o’clock is this mama’s Jesus time.
And He’s always right there–right on time.
