Motherhood is Sanctifying Work
Motherhood is sanctifying work.
(You may be rolling your eyes at me here and thinking, “Yeah, right!” but hear me out on this one here, okay?)
How often did you give grace to your kids today (or how often SHOULD you have)? All those tantrums and screaming/arguing, did you meet your kids with love and forgiveness?
That unconditional love God has for us–that grace we’re given every day–you show that same love to your babies every day. You may lose your temper some days and meet your kids with a harsh word (you are human after all) but you still love them with all you’ve got and show them the love of God.
How often did you teach and maybe even preach today? Did you teach your kids about kindness and sharing? Did you read a Bible story or talk about Jesus at all today?
You may not have preached to five thousand or gone on mission across the globe, sharing the Good News to unbelievers; but you’re making disciples right in your home.
How often did you serve others today? Dishing out fruit snacks and vacuuming up the crumbs that are all good and caked into the rug.
You may not have washed the feet of a stranger but you served the little humans that God has placed in your life. You did the work of a servant and bent down to help another without grumbling. (Okay, maybe a little bit of grumbling. I get it, okay, no judgment.)
Mama, motherhood is making you more like Christ.
It’s sanctifying you.
Yes, you’re already holy by the blood He shed for you on that cross, but you are maturing in your faith and becoming more like Him–every day of motherhood.
He chose you and set you apart long ago.
You are a daughter of God.
And motherhood is bringing you closer to Him, creating you to be more like Him.
