The Lord is Close to the Brokenhearted

Spread the love

You have no energy, and it’s not the normal lack of energy that comes from raising kids. No, you want to just stay tucked away inside your home, doing nothing and sleeping the day away.

You find no joy in doing anything. Nothing excites you and there’s nothing to look forward to.

You cry a lot . . . more than you’d like to admit. Tears over the littlest things. Tears over nothing. And you cry them when you’re all alone and no one can see the amount that you’ve shed.

You’ve cut yourself off from friends, to the point where they’re not even trying to reach out to you anymore. They figure, why bother?

You’ve been feeling all of this for quite sometime and you know that at this point, it’s been far too long. But, still, you don’t say anything to anyone. You’re ashamed that people might not understand or that they’ll think you’re crazy. You’re afraid they’ll think you’re ungrateful to God because, well, look at those cute kids you have. Who could be depressed when God has given you such blessings?

And so, you stay silent. Hiding it all behind your smile. Blaming the anger and snapping on just sleep deprivation and masking it away from the world.

You know the One you can’t mask it all from?

You know Who I’m talking about. He’s been there through it all and He’s kept count of every tear you’ve shed. He’s felt every feeling that you’ve felt and He’s carried it all, right there alongside you.

Mama, if you’re experiencing depression – of any kind – God will not leave you. You are not alone. And He also does not want you to suffer alone, so please, tell someone. Even if it’s just your husband at first. A friend. A family member. Whoever. And then, seek the help.

There is hope for healing, sweet mama. God’s plans for you are for hope and a future, so don’t you ever – and I do mean EVER – give up on that.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.

And He saves those who are crushed in spirit.
