A Mama Knows About Sacrifice

A mama knows about sacrifices. 

She sacrificed her body, her looks, and her sleep just to bring life into this world. 

Her pants are tighter than she’d like and she wears baggy shirts to cover her “mom gut.” You can see the lack of sleep around her eyelids. 

She sacrifices her own wellness and her own needs every day so she can serve others. 

Her day is spent with an entourage following her everywhere, and she gives up things like taking a shower by herself so she can vacuum for the third time that day. She can’t tell you the last time she went to the salon or had a “me” day. 

And sometimes, a mama sacrifices her career or her dreams in the calling of being a stay-at-home mom. 

She’s reliant on coffee (and it shows), and she relies on Jesus to get her through the day—every day. 

She sacrifices a lot. (That’s just what moms do, right?) 

But she knows she has a Savior who paid the ultimate sacrifice, not just for her, but for those precious kids, too. 

And so, she continues to sacrifice for the good of her family because she knows . . .

Her work is serving Him.
