Moms Are Tired, It’s a Given
Moms are tired.
It’s a given in motherhood.
The first thing other moms tell you is how exhausting it is.
Moms of littles either have a newborn eating every two hours in the night, a teething baby, or a toddler who’s having nightmares.
They might have spent their day mediating between fighting children or dealing with toddler tantrums that feel like they have no end.
Working moms might be tired because they’re working a full-time job and trying to manage motherhood as well. They might be feeling torn in two different directions all the time and they desperately need a break.
Anxious moms may have laid awake most of the night with a racing mind or there is something that’s worrying them.
Moms looking for a break have probably been up late after the kids go to sleep, just to give themselves some “me time.” Whether it’s to watch their favorite show or read a page-turning book, they just want a second for themselves.
Busy moms have probably been running around and doing everything for everyone else. Whether it’s laundry and household chores or grocery shopping and packing kids around to all of their extracurriculars, these moms just go, go, go.
When moms are tired, we need. . .
A helping hand.
A break.
A nap.
Grace.
Jesus.
And a (hot) cup of coffee.
There are a million reasons why a mom may be tired, but what she really needs is to give herself some more grace . . .
(And maybe a little bit more Jesus and coffee.)
